Al Jazeera and The Associated Press exclusively reported on December 1, 2018 that the United States has completed construction on a 100-year-old water pipeline.
It was inaugurated on December 5, 1776.
The US has built and maintained nearly 1,500 miles of water pipelines across the country.
US President Donald Trump’s administration announced in March that the US will begin construction on its next 100-million-gallon (3.5-billion-litre) pipeline, which will run from Alabama to Texas.
The pipeline is estimated to cost $3.6 billion, according to a statement from the US Department of the Interior.
