(AP) A purification program that has helped many people in the Atlanta metro area flush their tap water has expired and will be replaced by a different purifying system.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Water and Sewer Authority says the program has not yet been replaced and will not be operational again until March 2019.
It says the authority plans to hire a consultant to assist in its implementation.
The purification system used in Georgia is called a purifier and was used in many states including Georgia.
Atlanta’s system is based on a system that purifies water and then filters it, and then the purifier turns it into pure water.
